One of the best innovations in skincare has been the creation of the Hydro-Star pimple patch, all thanks to Starface. Suddenly, you could treat your skin gently while looking adorable, reducing blemishes while adding a cute accessory. And that charming compact? Just delightful!
However, there are moments when you might not want to sport colorful stars on your face (though they are rare!). For those occasions, a new star has joined the Starface lineup. Launching on July 31, Hydro-Star Clear features the brand’s beloved hydrocolloid patches with a transparent finish, providing an option for any mood or occasion.
“Starface is for everyone and every blemish,” says Kara Brothers, President of Starface. “Our mission is to ensure our customers always feel cute and confident in their skin; sometimes that may look like a colorful star, and other times, it may be more understated.”
Here’s everything you need to know about the brand’s newest pimple patch.

The Inspiration Although completely clear, Starface has retained its iconic star shape for this launch. Remember, cuteness and care can go hand in hand!
“The introduction of Hydro-Star Clear allows our customers to express themselves fully and wear Starface exactly as they wish,” explains Brothers. “We often hear from students who can’t wear Starface at school and need an alternative for treating acne. Others may prefer a more subtle look. Whatever the reason, Clear enables everyone to embrace Starface in their own way.”
The Formula Hydro-Star Clear functions just like any other Hydro-Star you’ve used before—simply apply a star to the pimple and let it work its magic. Like its predecessors, the new patches are made with Starface‘s award-winning 100% hydrocolloid formula, designed to absorb fluid, reduce redness, and protect the skin from bacteria and picking, according to Brothers.
There’s a new addition, too. A larger size—18mm—joins the classic (14mm) and XL (20mm) options for added convenience. Each pack contains a total of 32 stars: 16 regular and 16 big.
Look at the stars! They shine just for you. (Apologies to Coldplay, but they aren’t all yellow!)
