Allergan Aesthetics just launched the SkinMedica HA5 Hydra Collagen Replenish + Restore Hydrator. This next-generation formula is designed to provide hydration, enhance facial plumpness, and impart a radiant glow to the skin.

This new hydrator features double the hyaluronic acid content of the original formula and incorporates Hydra Collagen and Advanced Vitisensce Technology. According to the company, these ingredients work together to support the skin’s natural ability to attract and retain moisture while delivering immediate hydration and smoothness.

Suitable for all skin types, this product helps strengthen the skin barrier and offers hydration that lasts up to 48 hours.

“We transformed the approach to skin hydration in 2016 with the introduction of our first HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, which has since won numerous industry awards and remains a favorite among consumers,” says Jasson Gilmore, Senior Vice President of US Aesthetics at Allergan Aesthetics. “Now, we’ve built upon the strengths of the original product to further enhance skin health and provide deeper hydration.”

Hyaluronic acid is considered a star ingredient, alongside well-known staples like vitamin C, retinol, and niacinamide. According to Innova Market Insights, the popularity of these ingredients is expected to rise across various product categories this year, including hair care, where they will address specific needs such as skin and scalp barrier protection.

Complementary Treatments

Allergan Aesthetics recommends using the HA5 Hydra Collagen Replenish + Restore Hydrator in conjunction with an in-office DiamondGlow facial that features the SkinMedica HA5 Hydra Collagen Pro-Infusion Serum.

Clinical studies referenced by the company indicate that participants who used both the at-home product and the in-office treatment experienced skin that appeared three times more radiant, more hydrated, and visibly plumper after just one use.

“Dehydrated skin can affect individuals regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. Proper skin hydration is essential for achieving a smooth, radiant appearance and maintaining healthy, firm skin,” states Dr. Shannon Humphrey, a board-certified dermatologist. “Daily application of the HA5 Hydra Collagen Hydrator, combined with DiamondGlow treatments every four to six weeks, is an effective regimen for achieving glowing, hydrated skin.”

In exploring advancements in hyaluronic acid, Personal Care Insights recently spoke with Hydrinity about its transition from regenerative medicine to personal care. The company employs patented, anti-inflammatory, supercharged, dual-weight hyaluronic acid formulas to deliver “rapid results” within two weeks.

Additionally, Givaudan has been investigating various innovations surrounding this essential molecule for the beauty industry. Last year, it launched PrimalHyal Hydra[+], a cationic hyaluronic acid designed to adhere to the skin, providing significant benefits in leave-on products as well as rinsed applications like cleansers and shower gels, marking a “new era for hyaluronic acid usage.”
