French company Groupe Rocher has finalized the sale of its Ploërmel plant to Arcade Beauty, a transaction that was initially announced in June 2024. The completion of the sale marks the end of a significant chapter for the Ploërmel site, which has been part of Groupe Rocher since its acquisition in 1982.
Jean-David Schwartz, CEO of Groupe Rocher, expressed his satisfaction with the deal, saying, “The signing of this agreement marks the beginning of a happy new chapter for the Ploërmel site. I’m also delighted to be handing it over to Arcade Beauty, in whom I have complete confidence to continue developing this site with its exceptional human and industrial expertise.”
Negotiations resulted in a sale agreement that guarantees the continued growth and development of the Ploërmel site. As part of the agreement, all employees at the site will be taken over by Arcade Beauty, ensuring continuity and stability. Additionally, Groupe Rocher fragrances will continue to be produced at the Ploërmel plant for at least five more years, further securing the site’s operational future.
The agreement also includes significant growth plans for the Ploërmel site, with Arcade Beauty committing to adding an additional 10 million units to the plant’s production capacity over the next two years. This will not only increase output but also pave the way for further business expansion in the coming years. Arcade Beauty has also indicated plans for additional investments in the plant in the months ahead, ensuring the long-term success of the site.
“This acquisition is the result of a year’s work and very close collaboration with the Groupe Rocher teams. We are now entering a new phase of integration, and industrial and commercial development,” said Carl Allain, CEO and president of Arcade Beauty. The sale was facilitated with the assistance of KPMG Deal Advisory Services, LBMB Notaires, and Lmt Avocats law firm.
With this sale, Arcade Beauty is poised to expand its footprint, building on the strong legacy of the Ploërmel site while leveraging its industrial expertise to drive future growth and innovation. The transfer marks a pivotal moment for both Groupe Rocher and Arcade Beauty, setting the stage for the Ploërmel site’s continued success and evolution in the fragrance and beauty industry.
