Stephenson, a leader in soap bases and ingredients for beauty and personal care, is launching its Durasoft collection of naturally sourced polyglyceryl esters. This range was developed in response to the growing demand for natural products and green formulations across various personal care and cosmetic applications, including creams, solid lotions, cleansing oils, and micellar water.

The Durasoft range consists of mild and effective solutions suitable for use as water-in-oil (w/o) or oil-in-water (o/w) emulsifiers, solubilizers, emollients, and foam boosters.
The collection includes:
- Durasoft PG4-O (INCI: Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate): Specifically designed for water-in-oil formulations, this emulsifier is perfect for seamlessly blending oils into creams and cleansers. It supports certifications by COSMOS and NATRUE, complying with international standards.
- Durasoft PG4L-SG (INCI: Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate): This product effortlessly creates natural, low-viscosity cosmetic creams and lotions and is derived entirely from palm kernel oil. It operates without a co-emulsifier and works well with active ingredients to enhance skin delivery.
- Durasoft PG10-O (INCI: Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate): This sunflower-derived emulsifier enables the formulation of hydrating creams, lotions, and cleansers, enriching skin and hair with vitamins E and K. It is a gentle surfactant with effective cleansing and foaming action, ideal for COSMOS-certified cosmetics.
- Durasoft PG10L-SG (INCI: Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate): A versatile emulsifier and emollient, this ingredient creates luxurious lotions, sheet masks, and gentle cleansers that leave skin and hair feeling soft. It is a plant-based alternative to silicone and ensures stable emulsions for low-viscosity formulations.
- Durasoft PG10CY-MB (INCI: Polyglyceryl-10 Caprylate): This ingredient integrates oils into water-based formulas, enhancing product texture and stability while providing a rich lather, making it suitable for luxurious natural cleansers.
“Durosoft offers multiple application functionalities – an emulsifying action to enhance stability and spreadability, and a solubilizing effect that allows the stable incorporation of fragrances and oils while offering fantastic formulation stability,” Carr added.

Durasoft serves as an excellent foundation for creating natural products, thanks to its nonionic characteristics, making it compatible with a variety of cosmetic oils, active ingredients, surfactants, and co-emulsifiers. It is also suitable for producing COSMOS, RSPO-SG certified, palm-free, and China-compliant products.
