Hair longevity has gained a new ally with Arey‘s recent clinical results, revealing that 88% of participants using the brand’s Not Today, Grey supplement and To The Root scalp serum experienced less gray hair growth, effectively addressing canities and the loss of natural pigmentation.

Results: Repigmentation and Reduction in Gray Hair Growth

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted by a third party included 173 participants with various hair types. Participants were assessed for the number of gray hairs in a targeted area and overall hair quality improvements, using both quantitative measurements and photographic analysis.

“All participants had a physical count of their hair by a blinded clinician at baseline, 12, and 24 weeks, and the results were confirmed with blinded photo-grading,” explains Jay Small, trichologist and cofounder of Arey. “There was a statistical significance between active and placebo groups at both the 12 and 24-week marks.”

The study found that Arey’s ‘The System’ Reduces Gray Hair Growth and Enhances Repigmentation by Tackling Canities. Additionally, 13% of participants noted a decrease in gray hair, while those using a placebo experienced a 10% increase in gray hair over the same period.

Dr. Kenneth Conrad, Arey’s chief medical adviser, remarked, “To my knowledge, no randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled trial has been conducted in people with gray hair. Arey followed the gold standard in clinical studies by conducting a 6-month study to determine the effects of Not Today, Grey supplement and To The Root scalp serum on gray hair. This study demonstrated a statistically significant effect, with 88% of subjects in the active System group showing no progression of gray hair compared to baseline.”

How Does Arey Reduce Gray Hair?

To grasp how Arey‘s formulations work, it’s essential to distinguish between gray and fully white hair and the challenges of treating the latter. “Our study participants ranged in age from 28 to 65, all with less than 25% gray,” Small notes. “To preserve or even repigment strands, some melanin production must remain in the follicles.”

The System aims at the cellular level, targeting factors beyond the IRF4 gene responsible for 30% of gray hair. Small adds, “Vitamin and mineral deficiencies, along with oxidative stress from factors like sun exposure, contribute to hair losing pigment. As we age, our bodies utilize nutrients less efficiently.”

The formulations incorporate ingredients like B6, B9, B5, and B12 to energize cells and support red blood cell production, while PABA, vitamin D, and copper protect against premature graying. “Selenium, black sesame extract, and FoTi are powerful antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals, mitigating aging signs like graying hair.”

The Mela-9 Complex in Arey’s products works to slow gray hair growth and repigment existing gray hair. “This complex balances free radicals due to oxidative stress in the hair follicle,” explains Small. “It includes naturally derived extracts to enhance absorption of the ingredients into the follicle.”

The active ingredient, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-20 amide (PT20), promotes melanogenesis, the process by which hair follicles produce pigment cells.

Small continues, “To The Root contains the Mela-9 Complex, which helps balance oxidative stress. Extracts like wasabi, ginseng, and soybean promote cell turnover, enhancing absorption of vital antioxidants.”

The Importance of Timing and Consistency

“To achieve the best results from The System, timing and consistency are key,” Small emphasizes. “Hair pigment needs support before individual hairs turn fully white.”

In conclusion, Arey’s ‘The System’ Reduces Gray Hair Growth and Enhances Repigmentation by Tackling Canities, representing a significant advancement in addressing gray hair through a blend of scientific understanding and effective hair care solutions.
